THERMOFORMING

Plastic Thermoforming is a plastic manufacturing process that applies a force (vacuum) to stretch a sheet of heated thermoplastic material (thermo) over an engineered mould to create a 3-dimensional shape or part (forming).

What is Thermoforming?

Plastic Thermoforming is a plastic manufacturing process that applies a force (vacuum) to stretch a sheet of heated thermoplastic material (thermo) over an engineered mould to create a 3-dimensional shape or part (forming). After forming, the shaped part can then be trimmed and finished to specification to meet an end-user’s requirements. The process and thermoplastic materials are extremely versatile and can be utilized to manufacture parts for a very wide range of applications.

Advantages of Thermoforming

Plastic Thermoforming has many advantages over other plastic production methods. These are the main, but not the only ones

Large part capability at low cost

o We can thermoform parts up to 1500 x 1000 mm / 59 x 39.4” at much lower cost compared to other plastic manufacturing processes.

Lightweight materials

o Plastic thermoformed parts are much lighter than parts made of steel, aluminium or fiberglass.

High detail at low cost

We are able to print up to 1000 x 1000 x 1000 mm size object. That’s huge!

Rapid product development

Faster idea to product delivery compared to other plastic production methods.
